Despite the massive amount of stuff I have to do ("WHAT" you say. "IT'S SUMMER" you say. Yeah. I know. ) I have been able to enjoy a fairly light day today, filled with yoga, bread, drums, and facial expressions.

I am nine thousand and one percent positive that this doesn't just happen to me, but when I draw faces, I tend to make the expression that I am drawing. I never notice, until my mother walks into the room and tells me that one day my face is going to freeze that way.

Thank you for the heads-up, mom.

Anyway, after making sure the door to my room was shut firmly, I proceeded to draw the most intense, ridiculous expressions that I could muster at three in the afternoon. After flipping through my sketchbook at the end of this three hour adventure on paper, I have come to these conclusions:

When Shada is supposed to look very angry, he looks very constipated.

When Shada is supposed to look very arrogant, he looks very stoned.

When Shada is supposed to look very happy, he looks very crazed. (I don't know if you've ever seen a four year old ten minutes after they've gotten into the sugarcube supply, but I'm sure you get the picture.)

Hm. Maybe I shouldn't go to extremes with that man.


I have a different problem with Khepera. The fact that she doesn't have pupils restricts the amount of emotion I can convey through her eyes. Basically, she has two expressions: Blank and Very Blank. Oh, and also There's Sand Blowing In My Face Squinty Eyes.

Clearly, some work needs to be done. But the good kind of work. The fun kind. Not the stupid kind. I don't much care for the stupid kind.
